Possible concussion: stop and get help
For a suspected concussion, CDC advises removing the athlete from sports participation immediately. They should not return the same day and need healthcare-provider clearance before return.
Watch for danger signs and seek emergency care when needed. A website cannot clear a player to return or determine the severity of a head injury.
What to do next
- Stop participation and involve an adult responsible for the player.
- Seek appropriate medical assessment; use local emergency services for danger signs.
